POA
An exceptional 1900s Veramin carpet, with an overall floral pattern in shades of denim blue and red ochre over an ivory ground.
Antique Veramin carpets are widely recognized as among the most exceptional Persian workshop weavings, best known for their remarkable quality, fine crisp drawings and wide variety of rich vegetable-dyed colours. Early Veramin pieces would have been woven by the Shahsavan tribe, who settled in the city of Veramin after migrating from Northwest Persia, bringing with them the characteristic designs that set these carpets apart from those from the neighboring regions.
This exceptional example, dating to the turn of the last century, features a rare ivory field that serves to compliment the well-balanced overall drawing, with shades of denim blue, red ochre, sage green, and soft grey, all in gracefully aged vegetable dyes.
This antique Veramin carpet is in very good to excellent condition, still retaining its original outer borders and fringes on both sides.
A timeless example that would make a great addition to either a classic or contemporary setting.
