A fine c. 1900 Veramin accent rug, with a muted sky blue and terracotta colour palette.
A wonderful Veramin carpet dating to the early 20th Century, featuring delicate, gracefully aged vegetable dyes, not found on later pieces, with shades of sky blue and muted terracotta. Antique Veramin carpets of this era are renowned for their superior craftsmanship, which lends a crisp clarity to their drawings. This carpet boasts a well-balanced, open design, framed by an unusually wide border.
Early Veramin carpets have some of the most interesting and unique designs in comparison to other regions of Persia. The charming pomegranate blossom design is derived from earlier Azerbaijan rugs of the 18th century and symbolizes prosperity, fertility and longevity.
This fine Veramin rug is in very good condition for everyday use, still retaining its outer borders on all four sides.
A stylish example that would suit either a classic or contemporary setting.
