A Chinese porcelain jug with European pewter handle, Kangxi period (1662-1722).
A rare blue and white jug decorated with two main panels of precious objects, vessels and symbols above panels of flowers. Marked to the base with a flower. Made for export to European markets, the shape of this jug is possibly derived from a European silver or majolica earthenware example.
Condition: cover lacking, porcelain handle replaced by an 18th century European pewter handle, significantly leaning from base (back, towards handle), otherwise fine.
Kangxi period (1662-1722).
