A Black Forest Linden Wood exquisitely carved bear chair, modelled as a mother bear sitting with legs crossed holding a lily pad seat, probably by Rudolf Linder Circa 1900 102cm high.
ABOUT
This bear features on the front cover of Swiss Carvings the Art of the Black Forest by Jay Arenski and Simon Daniels, (see p137 of the book). It is Jay Arenski’s favourite bear but she is now seeking a new good home at Battersea due to Jay and his wife downsizing now all the cubs have left home (they are keeping Kira the Ridgeback)
