These beetle displays are truly mesmerizing—every time you look at them, a new detail catches your eye. Their vivid colors, intricate textures, and striking metallic sheen create incredible depth, making each piece a dynamic experience. As seen in the photos, they even seem to glow, drawing attention to their unique shapes, delicate wing structures, and fascinating patterns.
ABOUT
I created my first beetle dome just over a year ago, and it was the most challenging piece I had ever made. Yet, I was completely captivated by the process and couldn’t wait to make another—it was incredibly rewarding!
The first step is carefully pinning each beetle, a meticulous and time-consuming task. Every leg must be positioned symmetrically, and for the smallest specimens, the precision required is immense. Some beetles have their wings spread to enhance the composition with more dynamic shapes. Beyond preparation, assembling the final piece is a highly technical process involving an extensive list of materials and many small, repetitive steps. However, despite the challenges, the result is always worth it.
