POA
A modern recreation of high-end Ziegler Sultanabad carpets of the 19th Century, handwoven in Iran.
Ziegler Sultanabad carpets were originally commissioned in Persia for the Western market during the late 19th Century, to complement Western furnishing tastes, quickly becoming popular across the UK and Europe, thanks to their unique, grand scale drawings, quiet formality, and understated colours, which continue to make them highly sought-after additions to modern homes today, thanks to their ability to unite both classic and contemporary elements in a room.
This fine example represents a contemporary reimagining of Ziegler Sultanabad carpets of the 19th Century, handwoven in Iran in high-grade wool – a modern twist on a classic work of design. It features grand-scale drawing, in cornflower blue and muted ochre tones, over a soft sky blue ground, well complimented by the red accents in the design, and framed by a wide, decorative border.
A handsome carpet, rare in this large, squarish format, to suit a wide variety of interiors.
